This morning, I am going to mention a couple of things. One being something that I just started working on, and the other being something that I have been examining as a potential new product type for the company I work for.
Starting work on a new project this week (while another project is going through the final stages of playtesting for the next month or so). This new project will essentially be a compilation of spell using professions (professions that are not found in RMC) from the various issues of Express Additions that I have written over the last couple of years.
The final result will be released in both book and PDF formats.
epubs - One thing that I have been looking at for work is expanding our products from print and PDF into epub format as well. Essentially an epub file is zipped collection of HTML files, and any ancillary files such as images and style sheets. However, epubs have to be formatted in a single very specific manner and I have found a freeware program to help with that, and I have been experimenting with it during my free time.
One thing that I have learned is that epubs can do some things differently than print/PDF publications. For example, in a PDF, where we would have text that says “refer to page 75″, we could/would instead have something like “refer to Armor” and the word “Armor” would be a link to that section, allowing the reader to immediately jump to that section if he wants.
Well, that is enough for this morning…
